One of the most important things I want to stress is that you need to be willing to experiment with this product. Follow the directions to see different possible formations, which will save you from having to spend any time reassembling.

The pieces slide apart, but you will need to use a little force to unsnap them. My best advice is to measure your cabinet first. If for some reason they don't fit your cabinet the way you'd like, simply take it apart and try a different combination. These are durable, but use caution when taking them apart, as they are made of plastic.

You will need to purchase the jars separately – just make sure that you are ordering the authentic version, from Gneiss Spice. There are knockoffs floating around.

Bear in mind that these are measured FLUID ounces and the 1.5-ounce jar is quite small. I'd opt for the 4-fluid ounce jars which is the probably about the right size for the average home cook.

You can also order a set pre-filled with spices, and these are much fresher than those that you normally find in a similar bundled product from a big box store. However, they are only available in the smaller 1.5-ounce size.

The plate comes with pre-drilled holes in all four corners, so as long as you have a few screws and a drill, you can easily put it up. Now, if you're worried about putting holes in your wall, Gneiss Spice does say you can mount this to a wall using heavy-duty, double-sided adhesive.

Personally, I've never had much luck with adhesives, but it might be worth a try. Just keep in mind – those jars are breakable.

This product is pretty straightforward to use, and as long as you make sure the lids to the jars are screwed on tight and that they're fully attached to the plate (not hanging off the side), you'll really enjoy this product. The only downside is the cost – for the plate and jars together, it could easily add up.

The best part about this product is that it comes with 24 of their most popular seasonings. Of course, this could be seen as a downside if you have lot of seasonings already.

Ground spices and herbs lose their flavor and vibrancy over time, and they need to be replaced every few months. I share some of my best tips on using, replacing, and storing seasonings later in this article.

Since this product only holds 24 jars, it's probably not the best choice if you're looking for something to organize seasonings that you've already purchased. But let's say you are in need of some new seasonings – then this is a wonderful option! It would also make a beautiful housewarming gift.

It's a three-tiered wooden rack, with the capacity to hold 8 bottles on each shelf. The shelves include a small lip to keep them from falling off. But this lip is very narrow, so I'd be cautious about trusting it completely.

This rack was made to be mounted on the wall, but many owners confirmed that they have propped it up against a wall instead, and it works just fine as a standalone unit.

9 Tips to Help You Get the Most out of Your Seasonings

1. They need to be replaced.

It depends on the type, but spices typically need to be replaced somewhere between 6 months and 3 years after purchase. Some recommend even shorter periods for certain items.

I suggest checking the bottles for expiration dates, and keeping track of when you buy them. It's good to remember that whole peppercorns and other spices will last longer than those that have already been ground.

2. Keep them cool, and out of direct light

In order to help lock in the flavor, be sure to keep your bottles away from the windows, and don't keep them too close to the stove.
